Let's start with the star of the show.
Kaziranga is home to more than 70% of the world's population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, making the park one of the most important places on Earth for seeing these incredible animals in their natural habitat.
But the experience isn't simply about ticking “rhino” off a checklist.
As you travel through the park, you may encounter elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, hog deer and, if you're fortunate, tigers. The landscape itself is part of the attraction—vast grasslands, wetlands, forests and the wider Brahmaputra Valley create an extraordinary setting for wildlife encounters.
And then there are the birds.
Kaziranga is home to more than 400 bird species, making it an especially rewarding destination for bird lovers. Pelicans, storks, hornbills, fishing eagles and migratory waterfowl are among the species visitors may encounter.
In other words, you don't visit Kaziranga simply to see wildlife.
You visit to experience a landscape where wildlife is everywhere.
