It’s a calm, offbeat spot ideal for couples and families. A quiet spot to spot birds and admire misty hill views. Very few stalls around, so come prepared if staying long.
Avalanche Lake
Private vehicles are not allowed beyond a point; book a government-run jeep to go deeper. With permission from the fisheries department, it's a rewarding experience in the serene environment. The area is chillier and windier than Ooty town.
Upper Bhavani Lake
The forest department runs eco-tours to the lake and surrounding viewpoints—book at the Avalanche check-post. Required for entry at the forest checkpoint. The pristine lake and its ecosystem are fragile. Help preserve its silence and serenity. Both lakes are located close—plan together for a full-day nature retreat.
