Essential Kaziranga National Park
Do
The most popular way to explore the park's four tourism zones: Kohora, Bagori, Agaratoli, and Burapahar.
Elephant Safari
Conducted in the early morning hours, mainly in the Bagori (Western) and Kohora (Central) zones. Gives a closer and quieter view of wildlife, especially rhinos grazing in the grasslands. Advance booking is recommended due to limited slots.

Bird Watching
Kaziranga is a haven for birdwatchers — especially during winter. Bar-headed goose, hornbills, fishing eagles, and migratory waterfowl. Best spots: Agaratoli range, Sohola Beel, and near the Brahmaputra.
Visit Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park

Kaziranga National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 primarily for its conservation success in protecting the endangered one-horned rhinoceros. It also holds significant value for its rich biodiversity, including other large mammals like tigers, elephants, and wild water buffalo, as well as various bird species. The park's unique natural environment, including the Brahmaputra Valley floodplain, is also a major factor in its designation.
Kaziranga National Park offers both jeep safaris and elephant safaris, providing visitors with different ways to explore the park's wildlife. Jeep safaris allow for covering larger areas quickly, while elephant safaris offer a closer, quieter interaction with nature, particularly in areas inaccessible to vehicles.
